Patients who participate in clinical research studies receive care related to the condition under investigation at no cost. In many cases, laboratory services and other diagnostic testing are also provided at no charge. Participants may additionally receive compensation for their time and travel. Beyond these benefits, participants play a vital role in advancing medical knowledge and contributing to the development of future treatments and standards of care.
